Doral HOA
Approval Checklist

Select your project type and get a step-by-step ACC approval checklist — built specifically for Doral HOA communities.

What project are you planning?

Your Progress0 of 19 steps complete

Before You Start

Review your HOA CC&Rs for roofing restrictionsCritical

Check approved materials, colors, and profiles. This is your baseline.

Request current approved material list from management companyCritical

Call or email your HOA management company and ask for the current approved roofing materials and colors.

Walk your street — note what materials neighbors have

Visual consistency is what HOAs protect. Know what surrounds you before choosing.

Confirm whether your desired material has been approved before in your community

If no one else has it, you may be asking to set a precedent. That changes the approval dynamic.

HOA Submission (ACC Approval)

Complete HOA Architectural Change Request (ACC) formCritical

Get this from your management company or HOA portal. Do not use a generic form.

Include manufacturer specs and product data sheets

Exact product name, model number, and spec sheet. Not a brochure — the technical data sheet.

Include color samples with exact manufacturer codes

Physical chip or exact code (e.g., Boral Saxony 900 — Slate). "Similar to" is not acceptable.

Include contractor license and insurance certificate

Most HOAs require proof of contractor licensing and liability insurance before approving.

Include NOA (Notice of Acceptance) documentation

Miami-Dade requires NOA for all roofing products. Include this in your HOA submission too.

Submit to management company — not directly to the board

Most Doral HOAs route submissions through the management company first.

Confirm submission receipt and next board meeting date

Get written confirmation. Know when the ACC committee meets — usually monthly.

After HOA Approval

Receive written approval letter (not verbal)Critical

Do not proceed without the written approval letter. Verbal approvals are not enforceable.

Verify approval matches your submitted specs exactly

Check that the approved material, color, and contractor match what you submitted.

Have contractor pull City of Doral building permitCritical

Only after written HOA approval. The permit and HOA approval are separate — both are required.

Confirm permit is posted on-site before work begins

Required by City of Doral. Work cannot legally begin without posted permit.

During & After Installation

Verify installed materials match approved specs

Walk the job before completion. Confirm color, profile, and material match the approval letter.

Schedule required City of Doral inspections

Your contractor should handle this, but confirm it's scheduled.

Request final inspection sign-off

Keep a copy of the passed inspection for your records.

Notify HOA of project completion

Some HOAs require a completion notice. Check your approval letter.
